Choose a ‘catio’ (cat-patio) to transform your hard-landscaped outdoor space into a cat safe-haven which you can enjoy together. The main differentiation between a catio and a cat enclosure is that the catio has a closed mesh roof, as opposed to overhanging cat fence brackets.
The main benefit of a ProtectaPet catio is that it is built from galvanised and black powder coated steel for integral strength and durability, with a slim profile for the optimum aesthetic finish. Steel construction also has the advantage of minimum maintenance and longevity in British weather. Steel is material of choice for many cat owners because steel has a better resistance than timber to funguses such as ringworm.
ProtectaPet® Catios have the following key features
Catios can be extended from a window, door, balcony or porch depending on your preference and outside space. ProtectaPet® enclosure components are modular so that the catio can be attached to existing walls or it can stand independently.
To construct the ProtectaPet® Catio, our steel enclosure posts are placed at least every 3 metres around the containment area and linked with mesh, creating a barrier to cats. The modular enclosure components are designed around the client's requirements: mesh types, number of gates and size can all be customised.
ProtectaPet® Catios are available as DIY Catio kits in our Online Shop. If this is your preference check out our Product Manuals, and our video tutorials Or, if you'd like the experts to design and fit this for you, please send photographs of your outside space to our professional installation service.
