In a bid to expand into Europe, ProtectaPet - the UKs leading cat containment experts - have signed up their first European distributor. MachoCat, part of the ImCore Group based in Antwerp, will have the exclusive rights to sell ProtectaPet products in Belgium and Luxembourg. Initial reactions are positive and MachoCat, whose strap line is ‘The only solution for the domestic tiger wanting to go outdoors’, is set to be a winner with Benelux cat lovers.
MachoCat will offer the ProtectaKits for sale to other businesses in lengths of 10, 20 or 30 metres. The new business is seeking to create partnerships with garden centres, pet stores and fencing distributors, who can raise awareness of the products and increase the availability. ProtectaPet installation experts have spent time training their equivalent roles in Belgium so that MachoCat can offer an expert installation services to their clientele.
Eve Davies, Communications Director of ProtectaPet Ltd, explains: “Responsible cat owners on an international scale are finding that it is not safe to allow their beloved cats to go free-roaming any more. Australia and New Zealand have imposed compulsory micro chipping of cats while other countries search for solutions. There is a clear market need for a product that offers cat owners peace of mind by ensuring their pets safety without compromising their quality of life outdoors. It is great news that we have signed up our first distributor and we look forward to fulfilling the requirements of Benelux cats and their owners.”
ProtectaPet components are designed and manufactured in Staffordshire and the West Midlands, UK. The DIY cat containment kits are offered for sale directly to the public through eBay, Amazon and the ProtectaPuss Online Shop. The fencetop barriers and cat enclosure systems are used by ProtectaPuss installation teams who travel the length and breadth of Britain, building cat proof gardens. The company started up in July 2012 and has seen unprecedented demand from responsible cat owners across Britain who are wanting to ensure their cats’ safety.
