ProtectaPet, the UK's leading cat fencing specialists, have donated a cat enclosure to Cats Protection, Crewe and Nantwich branch. The 'Catio' (amalgamation of 'cat' and 'patio') is steel framed for a sleek finish and longevity in wet climates. The black powder-coated frame enables the catio to blend in with the surroundings of Susan Hargreaves' garden.
Susan, a cat fosterer who re-homes scores of cats every year, says: 'It is really important that I can allow the cats in my care secure outdoor access. The garden offers the enrichment of smells, sights and sounds that are unrivalled to support a happy and healthy cat. Cats who come to me will be in an unfamiliar territory and so it is essential that I can provide them with a safe place to play. And I have no concerns about their whereabouts! Hundreds of cats in my care will benefit from this for years to come.'
Simon Davies, Operations Director and Product Designer at ProtectaPet, says: 'We work across the country installing these catios and it is really satisfying to be able to support a local charity who do so much to support feline care in our community.'
Susan continues, 'I can't thank ProtectaPet enough for their generosity. It's so exciting to be able to let some of the exclusively indoor foster cats our for fresh air for the first time!'
