At Bradford Cat Watch Rescue and Sanctuary, a dedicated team of volunteers work tirelessly to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome cats and kittens across West Yorkshire. Their efforts have saved the lives of over 500 felines in the past year alone who would otherwise have been homeless, sick, or unwanted.
During our recent visit to BCWRS, we had the pleasure of meeting some of their beloved feline residents and caught up with Katie Lloyd, the Care Coordinator. Katie shared how she spearheaded an initiative to install ProtectaPet fencing to keep the Sanctuary cats safe from the dangers of roaming around the neighbourhood. "Our main goal is to provide a safe, enriching environment for our cats with special needs," Katie explained. "Installing ProtectaPet allows them the freedom to access their outdoor space from inside at any time."
ProtectaPet Fence Barriers now enclose the entire front garden area of the Rescue and Sanctuary, complete with self-locking double and single gates. This setup enables the cats to roam freely within a spacious and secure environment, significantly improving their quality of life. The local neighbourhood cats (and people) are also pleased that they don't get any intruders in their gardens.
The dedication of Katie and her team is nothing short of miraculous, and ProtectaPet is honoured to support their incredible work. Some cats, like Carrots, have found a permanent home at the sanctuary. Carrots, affectionately known as the 'Blind Therapy Cat,' brings joy and comfort to patients and families at a Marie Curie Hospice in Bradford. His remarkable service has even earned him recognition from the Blue Cross!
