The Cat Run by ProtectaPet® is used to create a self-contained cat enclosure within the boundary of your grounds. Where there is soft ground (eg. turf), use our Ground Spike; where there is hard ground (eg. patio, tarmac or paving), use our Bolt Down Plate. Both fixtures push-fit into the bottom of the Steel Cat Enclosure Posts using patented Cruci-Lock™ technology. The Freestanding Cat Enclosure Posts are positioned every three metres around the cat run perimeter and linked with cat mesh. We use Steel Welded Mesh for the lower 60cm of the enclosure fencing which protects against wildlife damage. The High Tensile Plastic Mesh, which is UV stable and low visual impact, is used along the top section of the cat run and secured in the corners of the cat run using a brace, or on intermediate posts, using mesh clips. The cat run is then cat proofed with ProtectaPet® Cat Fence Brackets at the top of each cat enclosure post.
You can choose a Single ProtectaPet® Cat Gate or a Double ProtectaPet® Cat Gate for access, which both feature an 'animal proof' magnetic latch with lock and key. The Double ProtectaPet® Gate is ideal for accessing the Cat Run by wheelchair or ride on mower. Some customers choose a 'cat-lock' gate: a framework of two gates so cats connected by a tunnel, so the cats can't slip between your legs on entry and exit.
For DIY customers, a high degree of skill is required for installation of a cat run and all the components can be purchased individually, or the ProtectaPet® Cat Run is available in Kits (in multiples of 30m perimeter lengths) with optional ad ons such as gates.
ProtectaPet® Cat Run Kits and components are available for DIY fitting in our Online Shop - if this is your preference check out our DIY Buying Guide, and our video tutorials and product manuals in How to Guides. Alternatively, our Expert Installation Team can fit this system for you.
