Cat Fans Help Cat Family

There was an unexpected feline drama at Vets4Pets Goldenhill clinic today. A cat themed party to celebrate charity International Cat Care's 60th anniversary was just about to start at 2pm when a group of children arrived at the clinic with an open tray containing 3 tiny kittens. Despite wearing a cocktail dress, the party's co-organiser, Eve Davies (from local company ProtectaPet) climbed through a nearby hedge to retrieve the kittens' mother. The Vets4Pets team then stepped in, carried out health checks and temporarily housed the little family in their isolation ward (with vet nurse Liz - pictured) where they could be kept safe and quiet until a plan was made to rehome them. The party went ahead - with cat themed cocktails, face painting, bouncy castle and kids' disco - but as word went around about the mum and kittens, several homes came forward including Darren Wall (pictured) from Tiger Gin, the company that had kindly sponsored the cocktails.

Eve Davies said " We're so pleased that all the kittens have now been safely homed and the mother cat will be spayed before joining her new home in a few days' time. It was an amazing coincidence really, that these homeless cats turned up on the very day that the clinic was full of cat lovers. We were so delighted that the cat and kittens received great care from Vets4Pets who are a wonderful Cat Friendly Clinic - their compassion in this sort of situation deserves recognition.. A very happy ending to what could have been a sad story...."
