Installing ProtectaPet in a Garden with Trees
ProtectaPet Cat Fence Barriers are an excellent solution for securing your garden and keeping your cat safely within its boundaries. These barriers make it nearly impossible for your cat to escape, but what if your garden includes trees? Can you still install ProtectaPet Fence Barriers effectively?
The answer is a resounding Yes!
Trees Close to the Fence
If a tree is located near your fence panel, there’s a simple solution: an additional bracket can be attached directly to the tree trunk using stainless steel screws. This allows the mesh to seamlessly extend from the Fence Barrier, preventing your cat from climbing the tree and using it to leap over the barrier.
Young or Immature Trees
In cases where the tree isn’t mature or strong enough to support a bracket, trimming is required. The tree must be pruned below the barrier height and kept within the overhang of 70 cm. This ensures that the barrier remains secure and prevents your cat from using the tree as a launching pad.
Trees Far from the Fence
If a tree is situated more than 2 meters away from the Cat Fence Barrier, you may not need to worry. Most cats are unlikely to make a jump of this distance. However, it’s always a good idea to monitor your cat after installation to ensure they don’t attempt any daring leaps.
Bushes Along the Fence
Bushes along the fence line can also be managed effectively. As long as the bushes are trimmed below the barrier height and do not exceed the 70 cm overhang, they won’t provide your cat with a means to bypass the Cat Fence Barrier.
Trees Close But Not Close Enough
If your tree is positioned near the fence but not close enough to continue the mesh, an umbrella canopy can be installed around the tree trunk using several brackets. This innovative solution creates an overhanging barrier that prevents your cat from climbing the tree and using it as a jump point to escape.
