The UK is a nation of dog lovers. They are our beloved best friends, they welcome us home after long days at work and always have a wagging tail to say hello. Dogs are wonderful additions to family life. They promote a healthy lifestyle and they can reduce stress. Recent research has also shown that taking dogs to work can also reduce stress in staff too.
Friday 23 June 2017 is national Bring Your Dog to Work Day. It’s the perfect day for employers and employees to test out dogs in the office to see if it could make a positive change in the workplace. National Bring Your Dog to Work Day has the support of Ricky Gervais and Rachel Riley and money is raised for All Dogs Matter and Animals Asia during the day. All Dogs Matter rescues and finds forever homes for hundreds of dogs in the UK each year. Animals Asia save dogs and cats from the meat trade in Vietnam and China.
Show your support for these two amazing charities and dogs in general by taking part in Bring Your Dog to Work Day. Promote the cause by using #BringYourDogtoWorkDay on social media and share pooch selfies too. Don’t forget to encourage your staff or your boss to bring dogs into the office for the day. Research carried out by Reed.co.uk showed that currently around 8% of employees are permitted to bring their dogs to work. Further research also supports dogs at work, showing that they don’t cause distractions. The dogs increase company morale, make staff happy and improve the atmosphere in the office.
We love having our dogs come to work with us and our cats have been known to pay us a visit too. They are all worthy members of the ProtectaPet team and we totally agree with the stress reducing benefits of having dogs at work. Do you take your dog to work? Share your office dog photos with us over on our Facebook page, we’d love to see them all.
